A universal pilling and snagging tester drive system with 2 or 4 positions to rapidly replicate pilling or snagging on fabrics in a fraction of the time due to normal wear. Provided with unique controller alowing standard mode with speed settings of 30 or 60 rpm, optional reversing facility at 30 rpm and test cycle input. Provided with unique controller allowing selection between rotational speeds of 20, 30, 40, 45, 50,60, 65 and 70 rpm. Programmable reversing function at 30 rpm and test cycle definition facilities. Aluminum backed cork liners allow for rapid and accurate replacement.
